Nightly Programme

Times Square Midnight Moment

Every night of the year, from 11:57 PM to midnight.

The Times Square Midnight Moment is the world's largest and longest-running digital art programme. Each month, the Times Square Alliance commissions a new artist or brand to take over all of the district's digital billboards simultaneously for the final three minutes of each evening.

At 11:57 PM, regular advertising content gives way to a single unified artwork — a video, animation or data visualization — broadcast synchronously across 90+ screens covering over 330,000 square feet. The effect transforms the entire bowtie-shaped district into one enormous canvas.

Past collaborations have included works by NASA, the United Nations, national museums, emerging digital artists, and global brands. The programme is free to watch from anywhere on the plazas — or from our live webcams.

"Three minutes, every night, the entire district becomes something else entirely — a gallery, a cinema, a message to the sky."
